I would like to start off by saying that I don't know much about audio, so you will have to try to bear with me :) The reason I am asking here as opposed to just asking Google, will probably become quite clear as you read on, since I don't really know what I am talking about.

My current audio set-up has one of these cables  (http://shanuindia.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/2-RCA-TO-STEREO-CABLE.jpg), with the 3.5mm AUX jack in the motherboard, and the white and black ends plugged into this Hi-Fi system (http://images.owneriq.net/download/images/d/d4cf142f-28c7-4e5f-aa4b-daec5c3da91d-000001.png). The speakers are connected to the middle dock with these types of cables (http://www.o-digital.com/uploads/2207/2208-1/Red_Black_Speaker_Cable_HY_205_334.jpg).

I am looking to replace the dock part of the Hi-Fi system with something that doesn't make a humming noise unless I unplug it from the wall, but keep the speakers. Preferably something small with just the red/white audio in, and the red/black audio out to connect the speakers.

If it is possible to get a sound-card which I can put the red/black audio cables for the speakers directly into that would be even better, since it would save valuable space on my desk :)

Sorry if the links don't work with a click, they work if you C&P them into the search bar.

Thanks for your patience, any help is appreciated.

Just in case, my system:

i5 3350p

MSI Z77A GD65

EVGA GTX 770 SC

16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM

Don't buy a soundcard go for fiio e7 if you are on a budget,Audioengine D1 if you can afford it.You will be surprised at the level of difference in sound.Sound card will just improve the audio a little bit and they need drivers which is mostly buggy.

Neither of those things can have my speakers plug into them, I think something like this is what I am looking for (http://www.amazon.co.uk/LP-2020A-Lepai-Tripath-Class-T-Amplifier/dp/B00CDS4TRC), please correct me if I am wrong though. I did a few searches related to what you sent me and found it. Thanks :)

I own it,it powers my 20 year sony stereo,it's amazing for the price.Audio engine d1 has rca so speakers can be plug into them. But if you are choosing Lepai then it's out of your budget.I am buying d1 with my new M audio bx5 d2

I recommend http://www.amazon.com/Topping-TP20-MK2-TA2020-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B00828UTE4 \

mainly because even though Lepai sounds good at first you will feel it's missing something after a couple of songs.Topping tp20 has better soundquality and is well worth the price.
