Since you are not upgrading all at once, right now I think the thing you need to update the Ram first, you can probably buy another 4GB 1333Hz Ram but I'd suggest selling that Ram and get a pair of 1600+Hz 2x4GB Ram instead, or a single 8GB Ram stick if you plan to upgrade to 16GB later on

After that you will need to upgrade CPU/Mobo next, since it's a mini tower you might want a mini-ITX board, so something like i5 4690k + MSI Z97M mobo for you here, or anything similar to that

The SSD is also something you can upgrade now, for HDD I cant say anything if I dont know what exactly that HDD is, as long as it's a 7200rpm HDD then I think it's fine

And the last thing you will want is a new GPU, maybe a R9 280/GTX 770 or 870 depend on the time you actually buying this stuff. Hardware changes very quickly so I'd suggest you come back here and ask again when you have the money and is about 1-2 weeks away from buying stuff.

Also before you upgrade CPU/Mobo and GPU, make sure your PSU is good enough. For a single GPU system you will need a PSU of around 600W to be safe, 500W may do just fine but it's cutting really close.

Hello,

This is my first post at LinusTechTips.com so don't immediately scream at me for doing something wrong xD ( I try my best. )

I am wanting to build a new PC. I already got a 1TB HDD so you can leave that out. The budget is €1000 and I want to play games like GTA V (requirements aren't out yet, but I hope you can make a guess), CoH2, CS:GO, BF3, FIFA 15 and Garry's Mod (large servers with addons ) and Kerbal Space Program. All of those I want to be able to play at 1080p maxed out at a smooth 60fps. (except for GTA V right now) It should also be future proof so I can easily upgrade it 2/3 years later.

My current PC specs (Medion MD8376):

AMD A8-5500 APU

Radeon HD7670 (OEM)

1TB HDD (Will keep this one, unless if all of you insist on getting a better one)

4GB DDR-1333Mhz

Medion case (Mini tower)

Please take your time, I will probably upgrade it within 4 months.

Thank you.

You need to ask much closer to the time at which you wish to purchase. Tech changes rapidly, as do prices. Also, provide a link or two for where you intend to shop if it is not in a country supported by pcpartpicker. And if it is, then the country - Euros are used rather widely.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
