4k Gaming Possible?

Go to solution Solved by mythicalbeast,

Ok so in Full 1080p would this work or a R9's better?

i7-4790k (Hopefully over-clocking to 5.2GHz when I get Water-Clocking)

Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 (Upgrading to water cooler when I get the extra money)

Asus Maximus VII Hero

Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866 MHz

Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti GHZ Edition

Western Digital Black 1TB

NZXT Phantom 820

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2014

Razer Mamba Wireless

AOC 28" 4k UHD Monitor

Cooler Master V750

Corsair Vengeance 2100

Was hoping to just back out of this after noticing my initial misstake. But yes, that will work better in most scenarios at 1080p, as long as you can afford it ;) And for everything else than gaming it will work perfectly at 4k, but you may get some scaling issues if you change your ressolution in games. So it all deppends on what compromises you think works the best for you.

1. Budget & Location
My budget is $4,000 NZD, I live in New Zealand

3. My Build So Far

i7-4790k (Hopefully over-clocking to 5.2GHz when I get Water-Clocking)

Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 (Upgrading to water cooler when I get the extra money)

Asus Maximus VII Hero

Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866 MHz

Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti GHZ Edition

Western Digital Black 1TB

NZXT Phantom 820

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2014

Razer Mamba Wireless

AOC 28" 4k UHD Monitor

Cooler Master V750

Corsair Vengeance 2100

3. Aim

I would like to play Minecraft, Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, The Division, Crysis 3, Warframe at Ultra etc

4. Monitors
I'm planning on maybe triple if I feel like it, at 3840x2160, But the thing is can I run at 40-60 fps or stick with Full 1080p

5. Peripherals
Do you also need to purchase peripherals such as keyboards and mice as well as monitors etc. Also please tell us if you'll need an OS such as Windows.

6. Why are you upgrading?

I'm Using a 3 year old laptop and it runs Minecraft at 20fps. So other games are impossible.

I wouldn't get a wireless mouse because when you are gaming and the battery dies then you end up dying in whatever game your playing.

Yeah well everyone thinks I'm @SAV1OUR. They all claim I'm an impostor etc. I don't like that kind of flak. :D

May be worth the time to talk to PB Tech and see if you can get a discount. If you're in Hamilton, talk to Steven Niu, he's really good at discounts.

It's werid cause this guy is running on i7-4770k and a gtx 780 ti, and I'm planning to overclock my 780 ti

If you're okay iwth 30-40 FPS Max, this isnt even the most intense part of Crysis 3, then yeah that's fine. But if you're going to spend the money on a system like this, go big or dont do it imho.

For butter smooth 60 fps, you're going to need at least 2 TI's
