Hi,

I have been noticing extreme frame drops recently: i thought it was due to CPU temps first, so i bought and installed a Noctua NH U12P SE2. Cpu now stays around 55°C while gaming. BUT:

On BF3, Playing at a smooth 80FPS when every 5 to 10 seconds drops to 0 for a second or so, and goes back up to 80 fps... it's unplayable, same for watch dogs, borderlands 2.. monitoring with NZXT cam, ram load stays under 80%, CPU about the Same and GPU about 95%.. the only thing i could think of is my 5year old drive, only 10Gb of space left on it (WD Green 640Gb) i don't know if this is the issue, because i don't see anything else.. everytime i boot the PC it's recognized as a new device on the cam software

Hope someone can help me and yes, i'm latest driver blablabla, i have tried turning it off and on (lol)

Thanks :)

Your HD is most likely the issue, you tried freeing up some space on it?

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

I'll Give it a try, but i don't see how it  can affect perfs..

@noxunited

Try monitoring GPU activity with MSI Afterburner, then post back.

Ok see you it 20mins :)

2 Of my HD's are a bit temperamental, if they are more than ~85% full they sometimes take forever to load files, but as soon as i free up some space, it works like normal.

Ok, so it does look like my hd is the problem.. gonna do the afterburner monitoring to see if it's not my gpu tho.. thx

reboot... That's how BF3 started to drop to 3fps for me...

I've uninstalled BF3 for now and I don't trust EA enough to get BF4 or Hardline (unless they become free)...

I Use to love bf3 on console, so i built the PC to play it.. Still love it, but bf4 is crap, must've played it 5-6hrs at most. It's funny 'cause BF4 is free at the moment, haha
