Hi there, I bought a retail version of Windows 8.1, installed on one HDD. So far nothing special. I recently got a new larger HDD, so i did a clean install of windows 10 on it using the microsoft tool. So I uninstalled the cd Key from the old HDD using slmgr /upk <Activation ID> in the command prompt, that worked. but i tried installing my CD key on my fresh install and it said the key wasn't made for this version. Does this mean i have do uninstall my windows 10, install windows 8.1 , activate, and then upgrade? thanks

UPDATE: Did a clean install, no difference

Ok thanks, I'll try that out to see if it works

Hi guys, I'm experiencing stutering while gaming (Dying Light is what I've been playing lately) Framerates are all over the place. Turned the settings down, and fps counter is going from 80 to 5, and back up again, it's quite annoying. I checked on NZXT Cam, and I noticed this: What's wrong with my Gpu performance? I'm running the latest drivers, HDD are about 70/80% full, .. Can someone help me? Thanks

I'm sending my mobo back for repair, and tried PSU on deifferent PC it powered on fine, used the computer for 30 mins no problem
-
Yes, CPU is outputting heat
-
Yes, no effect whatsoever, also tried to hit the cmos switch, no effect
-
everything was more or less all ready unplugged but here's what happens: powers on, no video output. CPU power phase LEDs are stable, fans spinning
-
turns on, no video output, fans spinning, then after 5-10 secs stops and starts again. this seems to be happening inifinitely
-
I tested the Ram modules on another computer, works fine
-
thanks for your reply, I only have one drive so i don't see how bootmgr could get messed up And I did all the testing with the GPU out, connecting via vga to my monitor, so i really don't know

Hello world, My spec should be at the bottom of this post. I started getting blue screens whenever i launched a demanding app (games really) In any game, 80fps on ultra for 10-20 seconds, then blue screen.(System_Service_Exception mostly) I first thought that it was the drivers. reinstalled the old ones, still the same. Got through the first test of 3D Mark, blue screen on the second. So GPU seems fine, something else is causing the problem. I tried scanning the PC for viruses with microsoft security essentials, unistalled it, snanned with avast, still nothing. this was unlikely because I don't download any crap of the internet. Did all windows update, bios updates.. anything you can imagine. But things got worst: the PC would boot, and i would get "BootMgr not found, please press ctrl alt del. I now had to choose what to boot from everytime, even though the hard drive was first in boot priorities. And finally afer 2days of that the PC just doesn't boot. turns on, all fans spinning, just no video output, no beeps, nothing. So i started testing components: tried powering up another machine with the PSU, it was fine. Tried the RAM in another machine, all 8 gigs were recognized. It was now down to mobo & CPU. tried booting without a cpu, mobo turns on, fans start spinning, then turns off and reboots and the process goes on and on (which I assume is normal if no processor is installed) I then took a i3 2120 or some other Sandy Bridge model, installed it in the mobo, still booted but no video output. I pressed the cmos swtich, tried to boot, no difference. Have I missed anything out? Is it definitely my mobo that is going wrong? I do not have another Z77 board to test the CPU in, but when the pc did'nt boot even with the sandy bridge in, i assumed the problem did not come from the 3570k No i did not install anything recently, a part from a few steam games.. didn't damage or touch the hardware prior to the blue screen etc Note: i did all the testing with no hard drive plugged in, but it should boot to bios right? THank you to anyone that can help

All right, thanks guys for all your help, i unistalled 3 games , 44Gb of storage free, not on single stutter on 64player game on metro. Guess the problem is solved for the moment (y)
