Getting my new headset

Is Steelseries Siberia v2 Frost blue / Heat orange edition is a good pair of headset ? 

 

Besides , do you guys prefer frost blue or heat orange ??

There seriously needs to be a sticky thread with a list of community voted best headphones and headsets in different price categories. While I've been trying to figure out a good way of using my Zalman mic with my Mono Price 8323 and Audio Technica ATH M50 headphones without shelling out another $50 for the Antlion Mod Mic 4.0 I've looked over the current headset market. There's a lot of negative feedback about the Razor Kraken Pros in the forums here, there have been less for Siberia v2s and take it from Logan of Techsyndicate that the Kingston HyperX Cloud Headset might be in a different class for an all in one solution; it's new, so there's hope.

 

I'm pissed that Mod Mic isn't on Amazon and that it's $50. In America you can get HyperX Clouds for $80 on amazon with the weakest part of the headset being the mic sadly. If you were gonna get one or the other it's hard to turn down a well reviewed all in one solution for an extra $30 compared to just an attachable mic. 

 

I swear, could I go to Home Depot, get a coin sized pieces of metal, a magnet or two and some glue and make my own mod mic?  :lol:

A poll is good . I won't go for a headphone and mic because i don like it . Btw you should try make your own mod mic

Definitely try and find the HyperX Cloud if you want a headset. Won't find anything better for less than $100 really.

A good headphone and a modmic will be the exact same thing as a headset (setup wise) and you'll get much better quality with dedicated headphones and a modmic over any headset you can buy.

 

If you can swing it, I really suggest picking up some HD518's or AKG K240's with a mod mic.

 

Another option if you wanted some less expensive headphones are Superlux HD668B or other varient headphones by superlux.

 

A good alternative to the mod mic is the blue snowflake. It's roughly the same price and it sits on your desk.
