mobo update required for devils canyon cpu?

It should work out the box. The Z97 chipset supports both Haswell and Haswell refresh CPUs as well as the upcoming Broadwell CPUs.

Hi, i'm getting the Asus Z97-A + Core i5 4690K. Will the new haswell refresh cpus work on this mobo out the box or do I have to update it? Will the mobo post on the first boot because it wouldn't have the new BIOS update to add compatibility for the new Devils Canyon CPUs?

Z97 Should work right away with the Devil Canyon CPU's.
