I guess this is actually the place to post it, I also posted in Air Cooling, but my Dell Optiplex GX620 is starting to overheat and be a booger. I think I should get a new motherboard that is LGA 775 compatible, put the CPU in that and get a new HAF case, but I don't want to put money in it if I can do something else to temporarily fix the issue until I have money to do that. I was also thinking cleaning the fans, or just replacing them, but Dell makes custom ounts for everything, so the replacing bit becomes an issue unless I just buy a new fan, and I eventually wanted to water cool, so I don't wnat to dump a lot of money in air cool solutions when I'll eventually give it that major upgrade, so I was wondering what the best solution was, to buy a new case and board and do some mad aftermarket cooling, or to buy new fans/clean the ones on it, or to live with it until I water cool it because, currently I don't do much of anything that would be a problem if my computer freaked and shut off because of heat issues, so, I'm not too worried, but I would like to know what a solution is, and it's hard to sleep hearing the buzz of my graphic card fane ALL THE TIME, even when the monitor is off and it's not pushing graphics to a screen, or it's sitting idle on the lock screen for mint, its buzzing away and spinning up, and I'm wondering if that's common or if that's something that needs dealing with.

Ok well first of all your system specs here please. Next, try giving all your fans and case a clean to check if it's dust clogging up your airflow path. Also, how old is this machine exactly? It could be your fans slowing down due to wear and tear
