290X Overclock

I've managed to push my 290X up to 1200/1680 with +200mV and +20% Power Limit without issues.

 

I recently tried to go further, with success... but, when I bench it with 1220/1680 with +200mV in 3DMark it gets almost EXACTLY the same score (no artifacting throughout the test)

 

Am I missing something?

Was thinking that but temps are fine when monitoring it and it doesn't clock down.

That's a really nice OC. I really wouldn't concern yourself over a tiny discrepancy in the numbers on your 3dmark score. ( Got 1270 core, 1665 memory)

I was gonna ask what voltage and PL you were using to hit that, but I see you're using some MSI Lightning's, some damn nice card right there!

When overclocking there is a point where overclocking doesn't scale. You can see a tangible performance increase from 1000Mhz to 1100Mhz but not as much from 1100Mhz to 1200Mhz.

I see you have a Kraken G10, do you have VRM heat sinks? Use GPU-Z to check VRM temperature.

VRM hits about 80C under full load at 1200/1680.

 

I have ghetto modded half of the stock cooler onto the vrms.
