Slower internet problem

Since last week I'm getting only 3.58Mb/s download (0.89 when TV is on), and I'm supposted to get 8Mb/s (5 when TV is on). I tested speed with 2 laptops and PC, on each with wire and wirelessly. After getting same results for 3 days I called my ISP and they told me it is hardware problem, that they can't see anything wrong with connection on their side. Can someone help me and tell me what can causethis problem?

The best thing to do is to completely reset and re-configure your modem and router. Test your speed on a single computer on a wired connection. Then systematically re-connect all wireless devices one by one to test speeds.

Is 8mbit/s what you used to get or was that speed just quoted to you by your ISP?
