Hey guys! Not really a guide but i have a question regarding RAID 1 solutions. Let's say I have 1 3TB hdd in raid 1, so technically i will have only half of its capacity, being 1.5TB only for use? So its same goes for 2 3TB, 4 3TB and vice versa?

you dont put 1 drive in raid, but 2 3tb would be a total of 3tb in raid 1 and 4 3tb will be silly.

You need at least two drives for RAID.

My Best 2013 Bitfenix Prodigy Build  Case: Bitfenix Prodigy White | Motherboard: ASRock Z77E-ITX | CPU: Intel i7 3770k | CPU Cooler: H100i | GPU: GTX 690

RAID 1 is basically a failsafe design.

You have 2 drives(minimum) of equal capacity say 2Tb which are made into a Redundant Array. One drive is lost due to the array meaning you still only have 2TB available.

If one drive dies, you still have every single file to the dot mirrored on the other drive. Simple put a new 2TB drive back in and rebuild the Array :)
