Mini Displayport problems.

So I just bought a mini displayport to hdmi cable (one single cable, no adapter) and when plugging it into my monitor it says it doesn't get a signal. I used an HDMI cable on the monitor before switching to this solution (so the monitor is set to HDMI), because I'll be using the HDMI cable to display on my TV. I got a Sapphire 7970 and no I don't have the latest AMD drivers because I've been getting issues with newer drivers (taskbar flickering, PC dying etc etc). 

 

So it's currently:

GPU -> DVI -> Monitor

GPU -> HDMI -> TV (set to mirror the first display)

GPU -> Mini DP to HDMI cable -> Monitor (no signal)

 

Any suggestions? Thanks!

 

EDIT: Solved it. Turns out the HDMI part wasn't completely push in lol
