I built a brand new computer but to play in my room i neew wireless so i put an old network car in and it was running great. then i move to my upstairs room and i cant use the internet.  Is this because my system is too new for the old card.  I also moved the computer to where i use the old one and it wa extremly slow.  What do i need to do to be able to play in my room not next to my parents.

you can get a powerline that connects though the electrical in your house to the router/modem and is better than wireless. Otherwise you could get a long ethernet cable or gt a wireless range extender if you resolved the problem is distance from connection point.

What i mean to say is that it is noticably slower then on my old computer.  I can use the internet and everything on my old computer with this card but on my new computer i cant unless im right next to the router.  It will say limited connection when i am farther away from it.

Really up to you and how much you would like to spend, I see lots of people recommending powerline adapters but they didn't work too well in my situation (old house + wiring = really bad noise on the connection) have you diagnosed if it's your router?

its not the router its a good router that has amazing range. it could be the drivers but i need to get something for my computer.  Waht would be the best bang for my buck in terms of wireless.  There is no possible way i could run cables to my room so i have to go wireless.  my house is 8 years old to this day so would a power line adapter not be a good ideah.

Powerline adapters will be fine in your situation.
