Hey guys,

Im back with a more refined build that hopes to serve my purpose as a gaming, light video editting , general schoolwork, and everyday task-fullfilling build. I have a couple big questions and hoping I could get feedback.

Questions.

1. The Qnix qx2710 is a great monitor but I dont know exactly how good it will be for gaming considering it has a 5ms redponse time and I also dont know how much I can overclock its refresh rate. I dont know if I should wait for the ROG Asus Swift 2560x1440 panel with Nvidia g-sync, a 144hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time. Frankly, I dont care that much about colour richness as i have only had experience with a VA panel. Also i was hoping to hook up an Xbox via hdmi or other adaptors.

2.I want to overcolck! But i dont know if it is worth buying an h100i versus the h105 or h110. I dont know if either of them will fit in the 350d with the maximus 7 gene inside. Also not sure if want to water cool my graphics card with the upcoming corsair bracket.

Some things to keep in mind.

1. My budget is around $2000 Usd

2. I prefer Corsair products but I am open to other product suggestions.

3. Tell me if it is worth to wait for the brodwell chips and new 800 series graphics cards.

4. Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

Get a 600w 80+ Bronze (or more) or a 550 80+ Gold PSU. I would get at least a 290 for 1440p, the 770 ain't that powerful. If you need some money for a better GPU drop that MoBo and get a cheaper one, I don't think you'll use all the special features tbh.

P.S.

I'm a Corsair fanboy too :D

If you can wait for the 800 series then yes. Hopefully at gamescom we get something from NV.

People often overlook corsair mouse pads.
ASUS makes some really nice stuff that complements corsair red/black builds.

But do you have one of these.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the feedback!

I forgot to mention a couple of things.

1. I plan on doing VERY light gaming.

I'm gonna be playing competitive tf2 and maybe a little battlefield and other popular titles. So i think the 770 can handle it. Plus Linus made a video showing 770 benchmarks in 1440p and all the top games (battlefield, farcry, witcher, metro, and crysis) running at aroung 50 fos with everything maxed out.

2. I am afraid that a high input lag monitor such as the qnix will really hinder my edge on the compitition. But why am i talking, my current monitor has a response time of 50 milliseconds!

3. I know the maximus 6 gene is really complicated in its feature set, but honestly I am planning to overclock the hell out of everything! I saw benchmarks of the 4670k, when overclocked to 4.4 ghz almost beat the 4770k in everything including videoediting. Another thing is I am GLUED to the Asus Gtx 770. Its the cheapest Asus graphics card with a backplate, and it looks SO sexy.

More Questions

1. Shoukd i switch the motherboard to the Asus sabertooth Gryphon mother board with the Tuf armor? I am heavily considering thus as with the sheild, all the capacitors and chips get covered up which give the rig a really nice look.

2. Is ramdisk worth it? Since i am planning to also overclock the ram, it would create an extremely fast cache to the disk.

3. Is watercooling a graphics card worth it?

P.S I too am a huge fanboy of Corsair and I am super jealous of your pen!
