XFX 7950 DD OC

I'm looking at buying 2 7950's and I like the look of the DD cooler. This card comes stock clocked at 800 MhZ I'm just wondering if the PCB will limit me from OC'ing it as much as possible. I intend on watercooling to reach a high OC but I will be air cooling for a little while. I have read that some XFX pcb's inadvertently voltage lock the card but I'm not sure if that's just the core edition or not.

Why not try the GHz edition?

not really with afterburner 3.0 you overclock far beyond the limits (usual overclock for my 7850 ends at 1050 extended overclock ends at 1170 but with it i can overclock to 1600mhz oh well not stable but)

As far as I know, the ghz edition is just overclocked by the card manufacturer

Well, it is supposed to actually be stable at this overclock, so some people think that it has higher overclocking limit, but actually pretty much any card can be overclocked to the 1Ghz point and be as stable, so you are right here.

What about powercolor reference cards. Are they reliable? I do intend on watercooling

If you want a card that is able to be OCed, I would get a 7950 Twin Frozr 3 or a HIS IceQ X2 7950.
