So, BBC covered Twitch on their YouTube channel. I don't know if it went live on television, but yeah.

Or here.

"Who would want to watch teenagers, just clicking away, playing their video games, all night? It turns out, that number runs into many millions.

Keep in mind that they said this as they showcased the streams of people aged 20+.

..."cracking something which has never been done before, which is "live-streaming". And it really wants a slice of that pie to expand their YouTube business."

This is said in reference to Google purchasing Twitch, which they are still considering a rumor. I'm also certain that live-streaming has been done years before Twitch; Twitch just popularized it.

They also note that Twitch is also one of the leaders in competitive gaming.

Eh, oh well.

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

And here is TotalBiscuit's response for anyone who's interested.

I was about to edit this into my OP.

Just noticed it; I came across the BBC video in a related video, and then the TotalBiscuit video in the related section as well.

Thank you :)

Oh god, there's KSI again. He's everywhere.

That's another thing.

"He has more than EIGHT million regular subscribers."

He has 6.3million, of which are not all active.

Yeah, most of his subscribers are just dead weight, so many people got bored of him and didn't unsubscribe.

Cable companies are run by a bunch of old fogies or ignorant people. They have essentially undermined their future by ignoring the new mainstream things and treating them like they are niches and poor investments. Younger companies like Google are embracing these new trends and monetizing them. Twitch is a great example of several of these trends converging.

Twitch allows for users to dynamically view live content and its success is driven by gaming which is one of the most popular international pastimes. 'Dynamic programming' is here to stay and cable TV isn't.

I'm just waiting for when internet connections become a utility.
