Kraken X61 standoffs don't fit in thumbscrews

The standoffs that hold the cooler's backplate don't fit in the thumbscrews that keep the pump in place (it seems like the standoffs are too big for the thumbscrews to go in them, but I can only secure the backplate one way).

My problem is at Step 4 of this guide: http://www.nzxt.com/manuals/krakenx61/X61-115X.html.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Could you post a picture? Try taking one of the screws out and then try to tighten the thumbscrew. (onto the one out of the case) Just to make sure it is the screws.

These are the standoffs:

As you can see, there's a thin side and a thick side. In this second picture, you can see that the thumbscrews fit in the thin side:

In this third picture, you can see that the thumbscrews do not fit in the thicker side:

And in this final picture, you can see the backplate holes that you need to fit the standoffs in. The thicker side doesn't fit in these, but the thin side does:

So the problem is the thicker side. It fits in neither of the holes.

That's weird. Which side does the manual say to use for the backplate? Also, there are two sets of standoffs that come with your cooler AFAIK. LGA2011 and LGA1150 (I'm assuming you're using lga 1150). The 2011 standoffs will only fit in the LGA2011 backplate that comes on all LGA2011 motherboards. Make sure you're using the correct standoffs for your socket.

there are two sets of stand offs, one set that is M3 threaded on both ends those are for 115x installations

the ones with the larger end on one side and the M3 on the other is for LGA2011.

There are two sets of standoffs there should be gunmetal colored ones with the thin thread on both ends.
