Planning to get intel nuc get the msata the ram the wifi and a usb powered monitor. then make it hackintosh laptop. it will only has one thing that needs to be connected to power. is there like a big battery that can last like 30 minutes battery. its the normal 3 sticks that go into a normal out let.

umm... most NUCs have similar hardware compared to laptops... y u no get just a laptop?

i do. thats how i make the mac. the problem is this macbook cost like 1300 and if it breaks get stolen i just lost the most expensive piece of tech ever. so making a cheaper build

you can't just buy a battery and plug it directly to the NUC... You'll have to put some wires to plug it (also you can screw it up if you don't check polarity)... also isn't very recommendable to put one (voltage peaks for example(can cause shutdowns bc of security system))

can you like recommend a battery or something

also it doesn't come with a warranty or at least i won't use it. i don't care if they make me mail it back to amazon. that is like to tiring

how do you wire. all i want is to buy a battery and connect to the nuc somehow to make it in all in one portable pc

Man no offense but if you don't already know how to wire it, then DON'T. You can seriously hurt yourself if you're wiring custom stuff up, especially with a battery. You can also easily destroy the equipment you're working with.

FIRST you should start learning about electrical theory and electronics construction.

That'd be hard, NUCs has a voltage tolerance of 5 %

And you must know the model, there are models that needs 12 V and models that need 19V, aswell as amperage to know power draw

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Next-Computing-Thunderbolt-i3-3217UDC3217BY/dp/B0093LINT2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top   it is 12 volts. so like how do you connect it do you think this battery works. http://www.amazon.com/TLP-2000-Tenergy-Universal-Charger-3-7V-14-8V/dp/B001BEXDRQ/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1405900733&sr=1-5&keywords=lithium+ion+battery

yeah positive negative. you take pliers and cut it. are you sure there is like no battery that you just plug in like a usb. like 30 mites which is 5000 mAh

Doesn't seem like you are listening to anyone, so just buy this: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/TOP-60-000MAH-Universal-USB-Battery-Power-Bank-External-Battery-bank-Pack-Charger/225051_886588331.html

no wiring or anything to be done. just charge the battery and plug it into the dc jack. (if there is a dc jack)

What you linked isnt even a battery.

oh well so what am i supposed to do. does it work with like this 50000 mAh battery with some wiring or something http://www.amazon.com/ALLPOWERS%C2'> so you sure you can't just take an end of the chord and plug it into the battery pack

Errm yeah it's not nearly that simple. You've also got to match the correct output voltage and current. You've also got to be incredibly careful with electrical shielding, making sure there's no shorts. No offense but you don't seem to be very familiar with working with potentially live electricity or custom wiring.

If you still want to do this, then you'll need to find a battery that matches the output voltage and current (The current can be the same or higher as what your device needs, but cannot be lower - the voltage has to match though). Where you'll find this? I have no idea. Search around the internet I guess. You could custom make something with a 12v battery bank and a DC to AC inverter (Same as the car inverter kits), then plug in the AC outlet plug from the NUC into the inverter and run the NUC off that.

To connect the NUC directly to the battery, bypassing any AC/DC conversion, then you'll need to find a battery that directly matches your voltage requirements, and exceeds your current requirements. Also keep in mind that voltage drops as the battery dies. This could cause issues and will mean that your battery won't last as long as it could with other device types, since with a NUC there won't be a huge amount of tolerance to voltage drops.

okay so i find a 12 volt battery with a dc to ac adapter. whoa that is so much simpler. Do yo think there are batteries that control how much voltage goes out and in because like every power out let does. so all i need is a battery with dc with the correct voltages watts and other stuff

Well, that was just comparable to buying a AA battery for a Car... anyway

That nuc would work with some laptop batteries (you can get them for ~40 $) but you'll need to know pin output and security for cables

by laptop battery you mean lithium batteries because i have been looking at them

1st one WON'T work, NUC needs 19 V and 3.42 A

2nd one is an inverter for a car...

no my nuc needs 12 volts. i think. how about this http://www.amazon.com/Nature-Power-80026-Portable-Charging/dp/B00BGP2MPO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1405901964&sr=8-3&keywords=ac+battery+pack        i needed the inverter because of the ac thing. and wouldn't that inverter actually control how many volts the first thing. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-CP120B-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B000H78YXQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405902067&sr=8-2&keywords=ac+battery+pack

You misunderstand. He intends to use them together.

The first one is just a battery pack, then the second one converts to AC, and then he can just plug the regular AC Power Adapter from the NUC into the inverter.

However looking at it, the OP may need to splice off the plug on the Inverter (The bit that plugs into a cigarette lighter), and wire in a DC Barrel connector that will fit the one on the battery pack. However, the amount of current the battery pack supplies seems like it'll be too low. Especially since the voltage is only 9v or 12v. If you have a lower voltage battery, it will need to support a higher current.

oops sorry for the 19 volts i think i was looking at the lowest end model. with a celeron. and dalekpalm can you link a bigger battery. because right now everything i am finding is wrong
