Intel Atom?

Managed to get into control panel  on one of the pc's at work that run one of many plasma cutters. It had a Atom model cpu, the heck are those for? I havent heard of them.

Pretty much a low-power microprocessor. 

 

Used for the most basic tasks. 

 

Web , Music , Email.

Makes sense. That thing is on 24/7 and only runs the software for the torch's.

Yeah that's why they used it. 

 

It's Low power but can handle small tasks that don't require much of the processor.
