Changing your IP. HELP!

ok so i know the method on how to.  go into CMD.  type in iconfig /release.  after that i get a message saying i need to disconnect local media disc.  what is that?

oh sorry my mistake.  i was just local media.  not local media disc.  my bad

Ethernet  adapter local area connection:

 

Media State ...... :media disconnected.

By the way, whatever guide you were reading doesn't change your public IP. run ipconfig /renew and you should resolve that.
