As the title says, I'm having a problem with sound in Ubuntu. As it stands, my audio goes through HDMI to my tv when I'm running in Windows, and that works just fine, but in Ubuntu, it plays each sound twice like an echo, and it sounds distorted. When I plug in some speakers, sounds works just fine through them. I would be fine with using the speakers, but they often have that radio interference beeping sound when my mobile phone is within 5 meters of them. Is there any way to fix the audio through HDMI in Ubuntu? Or is there a way I can use HDMI for audio in Windows, even when the speakers are connected, so I can turn them off, and not have to reach around back to unplug them from the PC?

If it helps, my video card is Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X, which is what my HDMI is leading out from. Thanks for any help.
