Blue screen

Hey!

I have a problem with my pc, i get a blue screen and it says something about that it ran out of memory, but when i go in to the event log it says that it was a kernel power failure, i know i should have photos or videos of it but, I'm not by my pc for another 4 weeks ( I'm on semester k) but I'm wondering if i could get some tips and such.

I have tried reinstalling windows and updating my drivers, and i cant update to windows 8.1 because some of the programs that need to be installed cant install, it just freezes during the installation.

I got bluescreen on my pc after installing win 7. the way i fixed it was by taking the ram in and out and after that doing a error-check on my hdd. (how to check your drive for errors.     click on the windows button, them open up computer , after that select your main drive by left clicking on it , after its selected right click on it then go to properties, tools, error checking.  Hope it works for u!     Bluescreen`s a bitch
