Hdd to ssd cloning problems

Hey guys i my crucial mx100 512gb ssd just arrived and i was going to replace The hdd in my lenovo y50. I have downloaded acronis image full version and have a hdd enclosure to put the ssd to clone it. However when i plug it in it doesnt show up. One of the courses of the problem may be the cable im using. The cable that plugs into the enclosure is one of those note 3 cables, a regular micro usb a extra connection thing. However i lost that cable and am using a regular micro usb. Do you guys think this is the course of the problem, the ssd isnt getting enough power?. Any help will be appreciated.

but SSD can run off a 5V but may need enough current to power on

the cable you're talking about is a Micro USB 3.0 cable, it should definitely have enough power, though the drive might not be initialized, check if it shows up in the bios
