System troubleshooting please help

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

Since you seem like you know what youre talking about can i ask a questions

Is there a difference between OEM "generic" ram with the same speed as a " gaming" ram kit

not much difference between them

only for the AMD APUs like the A10-7850K do you need the fast 2400MHz RAMs

otherwise the 1600MHz RAMS are good for all PCs

don't waste money on gaming RAMs

So i have a computer the pc specs are

Amd 965 be but not oc'ed

Amd 5850

8gb PNY olympia Ram

500w corsair psu

I think thats all you need for the question

My question is that whenever i power on my computer after a certain time (8+ hours) it never boots up. It either gets blue screened or turns on completely unstable and then blue screens. Them i have to power it down completely by turning the switch on the psu. Regular shut downs don't do anything. Its not the gfx card because I've tried out 3 different cards. Can anyone help??

And RAM prices are really high right now :/. Whats the best way to trouble shoot? Thanks

if you got 2 sticks

run with just one stick and see if it boots

reseat your cooler and clean out any dust inside your PC

reapply the thermal paste

check all power connections
