Windows 7 installation issues

Trying to install windows 7 64-bit on my old desktop. I go trhough the installation process, until I reach the page where it begins to copy files. But I wait some time and nothing happens. (it's stuck on extracting windows files, 0%) AFter around 10 mins I get an error saying: "Windows could not install the requirred files, The files may be correupted or missing. Make sure all the requirred files for the installation are avalible, or restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070017."

 

I've tried many times now, and the disc I have my windows 7 on is one ive always used in the past without any issues, even tried an external DVD reader, to make sure it's not my optical drive which is the issue.

 

Any help is very appriciated.

Is this an original cd or an ISO you made? If its an ISO, it sounds like its corrupted.

Any scratches on it?

Maybe you can install Windows using an USB drive instead?
