I think we've been over this before. 4k is not worth it at the current time because you need to spend a lot more money to have the horsepower to game at that large of a resolution.

Don't buy Maximus boards because they're a waste of your money for what you'll do with it.

Aside from that your build looks fine.

-snip-

This isn't even close to handling 4k. You'll want the VRAM of a Titan or a 290X.

Buying the 290X will leave you in a cheaper position to upgrade, unless you want to fork over $1,000.

Just save your pennies and buy once. Or play in 1440p, if you want high-res games.

Like people said, Maximus is over priced

And you won't be able to play 4k with that setup, and trying to build a computer that will is pretty stupid at this point in time...

And yes, for 1080p 780 is enough for most games on ultra (but games with bad optimization will always be a problem to run, no matter the hardware).

And why do people insist on an that and that card... Unless you need something that only it can offer (for Nvidia shadowplay...), you chose something with more "bang for the buck", and 290x is comparable to 780ti, and beats it at resolutions higher than 1080p because it has more VRAM...

Here's a build:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($339.99 @ Amazon)

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($59.99 @ NCIX US)

Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($149.99 @ NCIX US)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($144.99 @ Amazon)

Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($109.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($77.98 @ OutletPC)

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 290X 4GB TWIN FROZR Video Card  ($489.99 @ Newegg)

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($119.98 @ OutletPC)

Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($109.99 @ NCIX US)

Optical Drive: Asus BW-16D1HT Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer  ($77.27 @ NCIX US)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit)  ($94.99 @ NCIX US)

Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor  ($249.23 @ Amazon)

Total: $2024.38

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Now, i put that PSU because if you really want to game on 4k, you'll need 290x CF, and that PSU can handle it. And you'll need more VRAM for 4k. So, while this an 1080/1440p build, you'll be able to upgrade it to be able to somewhat play some games on 4k...
