Looking for notation transcribing software

Go to solution Solved by mooseducks86,

Since nobody here seems to be of the musical persuasion... here's what I've found:

Sibelius is great if you have a MIDI instrument to play on. Here is a 30 day trial link. http://apps.avid.com/SibeliusTrial/

I have not found someone with Intelliscore to give it a try yet.

Finale also has a free trial http://www.finalemusic.com/free-trial/ and has MicNotator which is pretty much what I wanted, I haven't tried it with a Snowball mic yet, just with a builtin mic on my laptop, but it seems to do what I need.

So unless someone finds something better, there's what I've found.

There are several pieces of software like this I have read about:
Intelliscore http://www.intelliscore.net/

But I was wondering if anyone had recommendations with software they've used. I like the idea of being able to turn an mp3 into midi to get the score with their ensemble edition... but the main thing I want to use it for is composing on the guitar and piano without having to write it out.

It would also be useful because I have the forscore ipad app for storing and reading PDFs of scores, but for sheet music that I downloaded that were scanned are very hard to read, I'd like to play the piece, have it transcribed, save them as a PDF and then load the clean fresh version into forscore, and doing the same with pieces in books, to avoid scanning them.

I've been thinking of getting a snowball usb mic if I do find software that does what I'm hoping to do.

Any ideas?

I always guarantee that no more than 50% of what I say is useful.
