Overclocking my 3930k

Go to solution Solved by extremescouter,

The Noctua Nh-d14 is around your price point, and you would get great temps with it. Another option, going to a higher price, would be the corsair h100i. Both of them would be adequate for your planned overclock.

I am planning on overclocking my 3930k to 4.5-4.8 or around there. Currently I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO on it, and I need to upgrade, so, what would be a cooler (under 90$) that I could get to the OC mentioned before and still get good temps? Also what would be the upper limits of my mobo (ASRock Extreme6) for OCing?

for that price a corsair H80 should do the trick as well the NH-D14 doesn't like to fit into a lot of cases. if it fits in yours that would be the way to go.

Pretty sure if your rolling socket 2011 you will have a case that can take a D14, but double check it anyway.
