Text Design Program?

Does anyone know a program that lets you create text in a custom font? 

i want to make something where some letters connect with each other, much like the screenpic. i made that in sketchup, and tried to edit it in cs6 but it doesn't look great and creating text within cs6 is even more of a hell

You can even do it in Sony vegas 

And a bunch of online text editors.

If you have adobe illustrator already, I'd recommend using that since it's vector graphics. I have made custom handwritten fonts with a tablet pen. Didn't take long at all. I used fontforge to convert it to ttf, but last I checked you had to compile fontforge yourself which may put you off. http://fontforge.org

 

There is a free online tool you can try out called fontstruct. http://fontstruct.com

yeah i've used illustrator for this and it worked really well
