Lately I've been checking the game prices in steam and the prices for random hardware and... Altho Bulgaria is in a tough spot like a country, prices in here are a lot lower than in the states and other parts of the EU. Lets take games for example, unless they are on a Steam super duper sale they are twice the price they are in Bulgaria(in some cases), Assassin's Creed for pc is 20leva here(~10euro or 14 dollars)  while on steam it's 20 euro, Watch dogs delluxe is 70 leva here and the steam price is 70 euro... Insane differences, but as I said I was looking into hardware too, well we have a different picture here... Every single piece of hardware is atleast 30-50 us dollars more expensive, and these are the online shops where prices are considerably lower than retail shops. I think that I understand why the games and software in general is cheaper(Bulgarians are used to piracy so much, that most of them dont even know that its illegal, we have torrent trackers that contain almost every single piece of software or movie you would want and before them we had websites dedicated to downloading content. So I am guessing this is supposed to stimulate them to buy the software since its so cheap, not that it will have that much of a success) but why in god's name is hardware more expensive? When you are buying just a CPU or just any single component 30-50 bucks aint that much, but when you are building a rig it definatelly changes the picture, not to mention that we usually get the low quality parts(I can speak about CPUs, because they are the easiest to differentiate, rarely someone manages to achieve a good overclock...). So guys, any Idea why are these differences existing?

the cost of tax, shipping and the markup prices of the shops will have a big effect. just be glad its only up to 50 dollars or so..

but when you see corsair 250D for 85 usd, which is 100 or so nzd, then compare to the price of the 250D in new zealand, its around 200-250 dollars. so count yourself lucky.

id import stuff like this but its just insane. another 50 or so dollars for shipping, and the wait to actually get the product, i may as well buy it here because itll take around a month....

another example.

cm cosmos 2, 300 usd on amazon(345 nzd), to buy in new zealand is 650

because new zealand, anything over around 250 nzd you have to pay tax on as well..

so tax + shipping + markup ~= 300 dollars near abouts..
