I've been playing titanfall at 1080p on high setting with everything maxed out. If I was to turn down to 720p, would I be able to get good frame rates on Insane setting, or just very high? Because if I can only bump it up one notch then It's not worth it to me. What do you guys think? And if I can, won"t this apply to all games?

yes resolution is harder to push than textures, i would say that a 720p maxed will look better than a 1080p low game

Exactly what I was thinking. AA can handle the jaggies, and my game should run at about the same if not better FPS. My only issue with titanfall is that you supposedly need a 3 gb card to go insane, Where I only have a 2.

The problem with upscaling a 720p image to a 1080 display is that it essentially creates jaggies everywhere. And although multisampled AA will try it's hardest to get rid of the really ugly stuff, you'll have to run a lot of it to smooth everything out, to the point where you're basically running at a higher res anyway. and especially in a multiplayer game like titanfall, framerate/resolution are utmost, and texture quality really should be the least of your concerns.

Wait wait wait. Instead of simply trying to see if you can run 720p on insane settings, you started a thread asking whether or not you can? Takes you a minute to start the thread, or 10 seconds to turn down the resolution in your game and seeing if it runs well or not.

Not in titanfall. I essentially have to restart the game to change res/texture settings. Besides, I like to look before I leap.

My thoughts exactly, too many people want their hand held and not try anything for themselves. I constantly see posts on here where if the person tried what they were asking they would've gotten an answer quicker and learned first hand. And this thread doesn't even have to do with anything important, it's texture settings in a game. In 2 minutes you could've changed the settings and seen your fps and determined if it was worth it to you.
