asus vs sapphire

Go to solution Solved by gasho,

the sapphire is clocked a bit higher from factory. but you can overclock both still. everything else is the same pretty much.

decide on looks and price.

of course both will fit in nice in your system. I hope you have a decent PSU.

gigabyte is still the same. however the sapphire comes with the highest factory OC. all these are very respectable brands.

I guess look at the looks of the cards. If you are into that stuff.

PS what brand is the PSU ?

If I remember correctly the Asus cooler had a few problems with the R9 290(x). Their direct CU2 cooler is usually very good, but there seems to be a problem with that specific card. The sapphire tri-x is really good and the factory overclock is also a bit higher, so I'd go for that one.

Also, did the prices for AMD GPUs drop suddenly? The sapphire 290 with the tri-x cooler is 350€ here, which is pretty amazing.
