Help changing a notebook keyboard D:

I am  helping a friend with his notebook, his keyboard died to water, the rest of the system is ok, now the problem is that the replacement part will take a while to arrive (out of stock), and he wants to travel soon, and take the notebook with him, now I have another keyboard, from a dead notebook, the sizes are the same, the connector looks identical but its from another brand, will it harm the notebook in anyway if i put this keyboard into this notebook from another brand?

 

please can anyone give me some info about this?, will it be safe to do so?

It won't damage the computer if you put it in, unless you damage the connector cable or chipset from the computer itself. It just wouldn't work if it's not right. But it would be very lucky if the keyboard actually fit, not just connector-wise but also in terms of size, fittings and/or screws (very important! It it protrudes more than the original keyboard, you might damage the circuitry underneath). I'd say try plugging it in (after establishing that it is, in fact, the same connector) if you really need it, and see if it works and go on from there.
