Okay, so let me start out by apologizing, I'm trying to help a friend who (through incredibly poor planning) is stuck in a sticky situation.

Goal: give a presentation/show a movie on a 2x2 grouped display tomorrow evening.

Materials in hand:
4x HDTV's 1920x1080
1x XFX AMD Radeon HD 7770 (DVI, DVI, HDMI, DP)
Asus Z87-A motherboard
Intel i5-4670
8GB system RAM

Materials avalible:

whatever we can find at local computer shops like best buy/ tigerdirect

The Problem:
Ideally it wouldn't be an issue, you'd just use DVI>HDMI, DVI>HDMI, HDMI>HDMI, DP>HDMI
but he didn't realize that you need an ACTIVE DP adapter for this setup to work, and can't find one locally

Would this work? (Inefficient I know)
Add a second 7770, and use
Card 1: HDMI>HDMI, DVI>HDMI
Card 2: HDMI>HDMI, DVI>HDMI

And then use those 4 connections to create a single eyefinity group in 2x2

It's my understanding that the reason these cards can only use 2 displays at a time without an active DP adapter is that signals like DVI rely on a clock within the GPU, and the 7770 can only provide 2, so with 2 cards each running 2 TV's that might not be an issue, but I'm completely unsure as to if this will work. Also we have tested with a passive DP adapter and this does not work.

The TV's are here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-e-series-70-class-69-1-2-diag--led-1080p-120hz-smart-hdtv/7172054.p?id=1218832139374&skuId=7172054&st=70%22%20samsung&cp=1&lp=3

Mobo: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8897665&CatId=1558

Of course any other solutions would be appreciated even if it means buying a new GPU or whatever, but keep in mind that we are limited to what is in stock locally, if you are unsure please ask and I will find out if I can get a certain part, but active DP adapters seem to be unavailable.

Not going to happen bro, when you put two cards in CrossFireX it disables the connectors on the second/third/fourth GPU, according to AMD.

right, but what if you didn't use a crossfire bridge and just ran them separately? I know this works for extended displays, but not sure about grouping

I mean you can enable a basic 2x2 in windows by right clicking the desktop and going to screen resolution, but this doesn't seem to work for things like full screen youtube or full screen presentations, it just lets you move your cursor around all 4 freely and you can manually drag windows across all 4, but traditional full screening doesn't seem to work right
