Black screen after logging in

Didn't know where to post this, sorry

 

After I log in on windows 8.1, I sometimes get a black screen for like 15 seconds, any idea what might be causing this?

slow loading time? I know this happens on my slower and older Win 7 laptop, maybe not 15 seconds but it goes black for about 10 seconds. I don't know of any solution though. 

 

then again f your OS is on an ssd my possible reason doesn't have any validity.

Meh, I didn't have this on a 5400 RPM HDD, I'm using an SSD btw.

try repairing windows, there's an option in the F8 menu, it'll keep files and settings and reset windows.

kinda figured that so I revised my first post. I can't think and don't know of anything else.
