Hey guys, I've been trying to OC my new i7-3770k but when I save and exit the BIOS and check CPU-Z my settings don't show up, it still says the default clock speeds. My motherboard is the "asrock p67 extreme6 v3" here is a link to its page - http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P67%20Extreme6. I overclocked with my previous CPU the i5-2500k to 4.5 on this mobo and would like to get this i7 to about the same so if you have any advice about actually OCing then that would be great too. :)

is it a intel K model? e.g: 3770K

EDIT: oops, sorry, just noticed you mentioned it in your post

are you certain you saved it, some UEFI bios dont auto save when you exit

Have you used a different CPU monitoring software such as HWMonitor? If that program still displays stock speed, then it may be something in your BIOS resetting to default. What / how are you changing your speeds in the BIOS?

Yep I have used HWMonitor and another program, also HWMonitor only shows 2 of my cores btw it you know anything about that and I dunno what you mean by "What / how are you changing your speeds in the BIOS?"

Definitely sure it saved, When I reboot and go back into the BIOS it shows all my OC settings.

Sorry, i was probably a little hard to understand. When you go into your BIOS, what do you change? The Core clock / multiplier / voltages? If so, by how much?

check out this guys problem, it seems similar: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/282039-29-asus-p8z77-3770k-overclock

if its the same problem you are having, it might be a corrupted bios

also try replacing the motherboard battery
