Considering I have never heard of icute No

If all of the reviews say it is bad, if you have never heard of the brand, then it's more than likely it is extremely bad

Also just to add on a little

On this website ---> http://www.game-debate.com/psu/index.php?ps_id=670&psu=iCute%20AP-1050AS%201000W

It says that there are 0 amps on the 12v rail

Hell it has 0 amps for all the rails...

Hope I could help!

The PSU is one thing in your PC you should definatly not cheap out on. If that cheap PSU blows then it has a high chance of taking most of the components with it. You should advise him to get a branded model that is 80+ certified. Anything from the likes of Corsair, OCZ, Be Quiet!, Thermaltake, Cooler Master, Sesonic, Antec, Enermax or XFX. I would aim to get a PSU that is around 600 - 700 watts, that would comfortably power that CPU and GPU.

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro | PSU: Enermax Revolution87+ 850W | Motherboard: MSI Z97 MPOWER MAX AC | GPU 1: MSI R9 290X Lightning | CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k | SSD: Samsung SM951 128GB M.2 | HDDs: 2x 3TB WD Black (RAID1) | CPU Cooler: Silverstone Heligon HE01 | RAM: 4 x 4GB Team Group 1600Mhz
