I'm planning on getting a 120gb boot ssd, a 2 TB hdd, and a 60gb cache.

How would i set this up?

Either could you link me an article (not a video please) Or give a kind of in depth walk through of how to do this?

thanks.

I would first suggest to install just the 120gb and setup your OS. Then proceed to install all your motherboard drivers and such, making sure you installed the Intel smart response technology drivers.

After that here is the link to an exceptional guide on how to set it up. Good luck!  :)

It depends on your motherboard as Intel SRT is chipset based and not supported by Intel on their x79 platform. As far as I know only z68, z77 and I believe the H77 chipsets are the only ones which support this from Intel. Asus and I think Asrock might have their own proprietary SRT tech on their boards but I am not sure on that. You would have check and see if your board supports it.

That being stated if your motherboard does not explicitly say it supports the SRT feature it more than likely will not work, and there is not to my knowledge any hacks or 3rd party drivers to enable it as it is hardware based in the chipset.

Being that x79 is the enthusiast platform and Intel SRT is for consumers whom do not wish to invest capital in a full fledged SSD solution, which is why I believe Intel chose not to support it.
