Metro: Last Light / PhysX / Fps

So i bought Metro: Last Light a few days ago on the steam sale and figured since im running a GTX 780 i could probably handle it because i beleive they came out around the same time?
My problem is that whenever i tyrn on PhysX the fps goes down to like 15-20 even if i have everything else set on low / off and when i turn it off my fps jumps up to around 60 with almost maxed out settings.

What the hell is up with Physx?

Is it supposed to drop my preformance by like 300%+ ?

Did this seem ok to Nvidia when they made it?

Metro: Last Light seems to have issues with PhysX, maybe it's just a really unoptimized feature. I have a 770 and Metro with PhysX enabled kills my FPS as well. When I was having the problem and looking for a solution, I found a lot of people with crazy overkill systems having the same issue. Just disable it, you don't miss much an it's definitely not worth the frame rate drop.
