GPU : MSI Radeon R9 270 ( UPGRADING )

OTHERBOARD : GA-H61M-S1 rev 2.1 ( OLD )

MONITOR : Philips 1080p 226V ( OLD )

TOSHIBA 500GB HDD ( OLD )

1 DVD-RW ( OLD )

RAM : 8 GB ( 2 x 4gb ) crucial ballistic sport ( OLD )

OS : Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit ( OLD )

 

Is this a good gaming rig for 1080p gaming at high settings?

 

Will there be any bottlenecks, if so how much they will reduce performance and whose performance?

 

What would you suggest instead of this?

 

I want to upgrade my old GPU and because of that i need to upgrade my PSU. My budget is 250$. Any suggestions which would make a better upgrade?

The GPU is still great. I suggest only upgrading the PSU for the time being to something like an xfx pro xxx 550W (or others).

Then upgrade once the r9 3XX and gtx 800 series are released.

 

With that PSU you can overclock the 270 a lot and get very playable frame rates on ultra @ 1080p

Aff. English isn't my native tongue so i might mislead you. Those are the parts which are new. I have worse ones right now and this will be my probably upcoming upgrade with those parts. that's what i've meant. Sorry for making not so clear

It looks okay, you could get a better PSU, like Corsair CX Modular. I would recommend an SSD for next upgrades

That core i3 still has some good in it. For being a multi core due to hyper threading you can still get good performance out of it, especially with mantle.
