So I just received my dt-990s (which are amazing btw), o2+odac combo and modmic 4.0

The modmic is extremely quiet and there is a lot of white noise using the onboard sound card on my maximus formula. I'm trying to put the mic into the o2+odac combo but I cant get it to recognize it. Is the right most input a mic input? Is there something special you need to do to use this as the mic?

The headphones worked as soon as I plugged them in, but maybe for the mic you need to do something.

Other than that, any suggestions on how to increase the sound, without using artificial level boost since it causes a lot of noise. Maybe there is a setting somewhere that can reduce the quality?

Btw, Im use the mic facing the right way :)

You're absolutely sure it's facing the right way? I have 0 of the described problems. If that's the case I'd sadly start considering whether or not you have a bad unit (that is if another mic has worked satisfyingly in the same input).

Ya, Ive tried with another mic and the sound is good. But still no idea how to get the mic to work through the o2 + odac. Any ideas?

Yay, someone else with DT990's! :P

The right is not a mic input :(

Try to plug the mic directly into the mobo!

Update drivers, contact Jimmy, try turning noise suppression on, try fiddling with any sort of gain control. Also the mic icon shows which way the capsule is facing.

Jimmy has told me that most of the issues the majority of people have are solved with driver updating in the past, not sure if his thoughts / findings have changed however since then.
