So I got home today went to start my PC and come to find out my little ol' 300GB Seagate Baracuda 3.5' 7200RPM drive died, so what do I do with it now? Its my first dead drive EVER! I still have an 80GB SATA I drive that is running stronger then ever and a few IDE drives that still work amazingly well.

SO WHAT DO?!?!

How do you know its dead? And if you know for sure its dead then I would open it up and look at the insides if you've never done that before. Then after that you could try different ways of destroying it... Like a sledge hammer :D

It was constantly running at 80+C for the past 3 weeks and when I went to boot today it though it was my OS drive, Plus It isn't detected when I Place it in the Hotswap dock I use

Woah! How was it running at 80C? Even without any airflow it won't get that hot. Also try rebooting your pc with the HDD in the hot swap Bay. I usually have to restart my pc on order for it to detect a new HDD.

I did restart my Pc many times with the HDD in the hot swap bay. but the drives around it were at 32C at the most. I have a feeling the drive was damaged

If I were you I'd keep it as a momento of your first dead hard drive, you can label it and use it as a book end or paper weight on your desk, or just chuck it at anyone that annoys you, either way let it be your special nick nack.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
