Asus m4n78-am ethernernet doesn't work

I'm troubleshooting this computer at home and I can't for the life of me figure out why it wont work, been trying all the different drivers from the Asus website but nothing worked. Help!

So I can put anything here?

It's a Windows Vista computer 32 bit, for it yesterday from an old relative . I just want it to work, will be turning it into a steam machine later

Maybe because there is no such thing as ethernernet

Well when I was in the driver page it had ethernet drivers, it uses the Nvidia mcp77 ethernet controller

So I can put anything here?
