The steam summer sale is here, and because of that I just had do buy Skyrim - Legendary Edition. I have been thinking about buying this game ever since its release and decided to buy it now because it's very cheap. When I started to play the game I noticed a weird bug like the wagon tipping to all sides and going crazy. I didn't really think that this was a huge problem, so I just ignored it. After a while I also noticed that sometimes when people speak the sound just goes away for like a second or less, and then they continue talking. It was really irritating, and it made it kinda hard to hear what people was saying sometimes, but I didn't really bother this either. It was when I got out of Helgen that I started to notice some bigger bugs that really did bother me. Every time I get close to some sort of water, doesn't matter if it is the ocean or just a little pond, it suddenly starts to flicker and making weird splashing sounds. Animals are also bouncing like crazy and flying in mid air. I read on the internet that changing from 144 to 120hz or lower would fix the problem. I tried changing it to 120hz, but it only made it a little bit better. Since that didn't work I decided to lower it even more, but then I noticed that I suddenly can't choice anything else than 144 and 120hz. That's kinda weird because I know I was able to do this before. While doing all this I also noticed that when I choose 120hz the screen suddenly change color, brightness and it suddenly starts to lag a lot more. I don't know if that actually happens, but sure looks like it does. I did try to use strobelight a while back when a friend told me that it was so awesome, but I removed it later because I noticed that it messed with my screen settings, just like it does now. I thought I removed it, but maybe I didn't?

Edit: I tried to continue playing after writing this, but when I tabbed into the game I noticed that there are two cursors. I know how to fix this, so I just tabbed out to do so, but when I tried to tab in again the game just shut down. No error message, it just disappeared. I have also been having trouble with installing mods. No mods seems to be working for me. Not when using the work shop, Nexus Mod Manager or when installing them manually. I have removed all the mods completely, and I don't think that this is the problem. I'm adding this in case this has anything to do with my problems with the game.

First thing I'd try is verifying the local game cache through Steam. Then install some patches from the nexus.

These might help:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19/?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23491/?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31083/?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25127/?

I have already tried to verify the local game cache, but I will try to install the patches from the nexus.

Welcome to skyrim. Where you are about as likely to die from a bowl spazzing out as you are from a giant.

Where the laws of physics do not apply and gravity gives no shits.

Where an enemy can do no damage for fifty strikes and then touch you in a way that makes you die

Where the dragons can be gone for days.. Only to reappear in full force of about ten and decimate your arse

Where jarls, npcs and guards can suddenly have a change of heart and run you through without warning.

Welcome to skyrim... The game bethesda will never fix..

Seriously.. Only waste your time on that mess if you've got the patiece of an angel and you really want to play it..

Should I change the directory where I store my Skyrim install info and mods? If I do, where should I store them? They are all stored in d:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\ , which is outside of the main SKyrim folder. And techswede, I do have the patience to fix this if it is possible and I really do want to fix this since it is in my opinion one of the best games ever made.

I installed the first unofficial patch, and it seems like it fixed the problem with weird water noises, but I can only use 120hz. I can live with that as long as the problem is gone. I am still not sure though. I have only tested it in on place for five minutes. I have tried to find one spot where the weird noises comes, walk back and forth to test while switching between 144 and 120hz. I will let you know if I start getting problems again. Thank you a lot for your support!
