So I recently switched my two monitors around so that my 17" Dell monitor is used for HELIOS, and the 22" monitor that I was using with it is hooked up to my Dell right now. I went into the display properties to see if I could push it to 1080p, but the option isn't there. It only goes to the max of the old monitor (1280x1024). Any ideas on how to fix this easily?

Does the monitor actually support native 1080p?

Yes.

 

The onboard may only support that as the max resolution.

My other Dell with the same chip got up to 1080p. Hell, even my VooDoo 3 can do it.

Speaking of voodoo3, your signature claims that helios includes that. Why aren't you using it for this monitor?

Have you tried lowering colour depth to 16bit? does that let you reach 1080p?

I have it hooked up to my Dell E176FP. And everything looks absolutely terrible in 16-bit, and even then it didn't let me hit it.

 

Update the Intel drivers

They're up to date, latest ones that were released.

Then try some old drivers... knowing Intel go for drivers made for Win2000. They work the best for XP :)

I like it too, and no.

 

Maybe the gpu didn't recognize the monitor properly, try rescanning for it.

How would I go about doing that?

I don't know with intel graphics, I never used their driver for that before, it's probably under "display devices" though. It should be something like "find monitors". Have you tried that "advanced settings" option you can see in the picture btw?

Advanced is just a bunch of crap like positioning of the screen and pincushion, stuff like that.
