Lag spikes, KillerNic

Hi

So I play a lot of online games and I keep getting ridiculous lag spikes that seam to keep increasing until I do something about it. This is happening so often now its getting to be a real problem I start with around 29ms, thats cool can live with that, then it slowly begins to rise at a random time for no real logical reason, there's no other programs or network usage co-coinciding with these spikes, its very odd, Ive been resetting my router and that solves it for a short while, making me think it was my router or ISP. The thing is this morning instead of resetting the router I opened command prompt and uses IPconfig commands to release and renew my IP then flush my DNS, this also seamed to solve the problem making me wonder if the router reset was solving it simply because it was forcing the PC to get a new IP.

So my PC is using a KillerNic E2200 network card, its an MSI motherboard with it built in. I'm using a wired connection which is about 20 meters long and goes directly into a modem/router from my ISP, I have tested the cable and it is fully functioning.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Oh, I don't have any other network cards available to test it aside from the Intel NIC built into my Dell laptop, this did not seam to experience any problems although my time testing with it was fairly short.

Well, getting pretty sick of this KillerNic, tempted to just buy an Intel NIC, anyone had any experiance with the following and know if its worth the money or know if theres a better option?

Well, I dont know but doesnt seem your nic fault honestly.

How is your speedtest?

Is it stable when is doing the test?

Something like this:

Although that test wasnt great, was oscillating between 88 and 90.

My test is marking 29 and it was coming down since it had finished the download test.

You can try http://www.pingtest.net/ but take in account the distance to the test server.
If you dont have one near you dont bother.

My Internet connection is pretty much perfect for online gaming. The only part you should really use the test for is packet loss and jitter. That normally is right like on this test, it was right.

Jitter is pretty much the oscillation of your ping, it test how stable your ping is.
