If you want to play online just install the multiplayer

 

If you want to play singleplayer install the singleplayer

so i just purchased modern warfare 2 including all dlcs on steam and this is the first CoD game i have bought on steam so i'm wondering if i have to install the full game or just the multiplier option to play on line. sorry if its a dumb question but its the first cod i have bought on steam :P

If you want to play online just install the multiplayer

+1, yeah that pretty much sums it all up.

 

Single player isn't really that fun as Multiplayer, so just install that option and you should be able to play, but you might have to install the full game with the single player included.

played mw2 before as always single player is meh but i just wanna play the last good cod game again

Erm don't you have to download the SP to play the MP???? That's what I had to do with MW3 - Ghosts.
