A couple times now my games crash mid game. I boot into the bios and my 4.4ghz overclock I set at 1.25 volts and it's set to 1.0 volts...it has done this twice now and I can't figure it out....CPU temps are fine hottest its ever gotten was 62 degrees. Brand new evga supernova 1000w PSU

Did you hit save? I've done it before.

Does it downclock in windows or are you just seeing the downclock in the bios later?

probably not actually. its a new z97 board too I should update it but I'm a little nervous about it.

It probably is a problem with the bios then. Not every kink is worked out in the original bios. I remember EVGA had issues with their 780ti classifieds where any overclock caused driver crashes immediately. Check to see if it's the latest. There is a tiny chance you'll run into a problem with updating the bios.

hmm yea and I noticed my xmp profile for my ram wasn't enabled either. its like everything got reverted to factor except the overclock multiplier... possible battery issue maybe?

If everything is getting reverted then it's probably the memory for the bios (CMOS battery I think, don't know really) is getting wiped. Maybe the battery is loose or dying.

What kind of crash are you experiencing?  Please be detailed.  Does your computer freeze and produce a loud buzzing noise?  Does the game crash to desktop?

Also a full System configuration would help us.  What motherboard and BIOS version so I can look it up.  Is anything else overclocked?  What games does this happen in?

Are GPU drivers up to date?

I have no idea actually

Read this article, figure out what your LLC is currently set to, and then try and set it appropriately for your OC.
