Hi there and thanks for reading,

I did a lot of looking into a triple monitor setup for gaming while hoping to use a GTX 770 in SLI, as of right now I managed to get a hold of 2x R9 290 for really cheap and was wondering if the following still applied for AMD setups.

Will the 60|120|60 hz setup work with 3 monitors at 5760x1080 resolution (3x 1920x1080)? If it helps I will be using a Benq XL2420Z (120hz) with 2 Asus VN247H (60hz).

From what i've read before is that I can reduce the refresh rate on the Benq to 60 and it the setup should function properly. Im just trying to avoid paying a premium for 3 Benq's if i dont have to.

Many thanks!

it will work but if you're gaming, then all 3 would be lock down at 60Hz and you won't be able to use the Benq Blur Reduction unless you can tolerate the flickering if you decide to enable it.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

All im wanting is the Benq to function as a normal monitor while using the eyefinity setup and when I want to, just use the Single Benq for the full 144hz experience.

I have had no luck getting the catalyst profiles to switch. IDK if I'm special but with 3x1 portrait I have not been able to switch profiles effectively at all with any drivers and two different AMD cards. All I can do is reconfigure or deconfigure eyefinity manually. I think it will require reboot to switch from 3x1 to 1x1. If that's what you're into.
