New SSD = BSOD

Pacc
Hey, now it's so that lately I was cleaning out my computer wich I do all the time, it is so that I get BSOD every other time I start the computer + at times when it has been in idle for a while. My guess is that it is loose on the motherboard but do not know completely.

When i start up the computer after like 10hours of off-time i get a bsod and also after 5 hours of sleep-time. After that has occured i can start up as normal.

I spy with my little eye..2 areas to look at.

1. The clearance of the AIO tubes near the RAM.

2. Kind of a funny SATA (powder blue)connector angle going into the SSD..?

Not really thinking it is the cause. Just an easy thing to start with..

Your best effort is the easiest thing to give to someone else..

I can see in this picture that it could look like a bad idea with the tubes but they are not touching the ram at all at this point. The blue one SATA-connector is going to the DVD-drive on the top right.

Thanks for your insight though.

If you can log into your pc, safemode or otherwise, can you please Attach the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump so i can have a look at what's causing it?

Powering on from a S3 state makes cpu voltages goes nuts especialy when you OC with turbo core ON! Try to disable sleep and run a 12-18 hours prime95 blend...

Also a 4x2GB memory is not such a good idea....samsung or not.

Here we have the dump-file.

Your BSOD is caused due to a rouge driver in this case it's "EtronXHCI.sys" - Etron USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller Driver.

Now the best solution is to disable it via the BIOS but if you don't mind trying something I found a link to a 'stable' driver after digging through the web a bit (the link> http://www.mediafire.com/?xvzsyf77yyzndz4 ).

Please Post back with progress!

EDIT:

This driver is for your Windows 7 x64, so here's a link to the latest driver from Gigabyte's website (rev 1.1) - http://download.gigabyte.ru/driver/motherboard_driver_etron_usb3.exe -

It's dated 2012/09/20 where you're crashing one dated: Tue Jul 26 00:30:56 2011

So try this one out first!

Just to be on the safe side you can go through this list and update the ones which are really out-dated:

I've tried it out and only the silent install worked because the pc thought the other drivers were newer or something.

Thanks!

I know your mailbox...

I'd uninstall the old one's first as well as deleting the through the device manager (reboot) then manually target the new drivers when windows is looking for them.

Post back if you have any difficulties.

Also I've updated my previous post :) .
